In early 2009 Vigilante Bespoke were engaged to provide IT security for a top flight Premiership Football Player. The fame and status of the player meant he was under constant scrutiny from the media and public alike.

In 2008 [Player] became aware that areas of his private life were being published in the press, without his consultation or agreement.

Upon further investigation, it became apparent the [Player’s] mobile telephone and email account had been hacked, and information was being gleaned unlawfully, potentially damaging his reputation.

Vigilante Bespoke now secure all areas of [Players] personal technology, including his mobile phones, laptops, email accounts, and web profile.   It is vital for [Player] to know that all his technology is protected against hacking, and that there is no private information about him available online, such as telephone numbers, home addresses, car number plates, or children’s school details.

“Playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world means I get a lot of attention; mostly good, but occasionally bad. Knowing my calls and texts can’t be hacked is very important to me.” Comments [Player].

Unfortunately for this Premiership Football player, some damage had already been done before he contacted Vigilante Bespoke.  A key element of security is to ensure protection is in place before an incident occurs.  Don’t leave it until you are hacked before you take action – prevention is better than cure.
